Plant-extract-mediated biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Eleutherine americana bulb extract and its characterization

Plant-extract-mediated biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Eleutherine americana bulb extract and its characterization. Nusantara Bioscience 13: 247-254. The plant-based has gained increasing momentum due to being lower in cost eco-friendly. This study aimed biosynthesize from the ethanolic (Aubl.) Merr. ex K.Heyne (Ea-AgNPs), then characterize Ea-AgNPs determine their phytochemical content antioxidant capacity. were synthesized E. along with various concentrations AgNO3 (0.5-4 mM). characterized UV-VIS spectroscopic, Scanning Electron Microscopy/ Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX), Transmission Microscopy (TEM), Powder Diffractometry (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. results indicated that can be used reduce synthesize Ea-AgNPs, by color change, had optimum UV/VIS spectra at 400 nm. FTIR analysis found showed peaks 2919, 2850, 1586, 1031 cm1, containing several important biocompounds. Additionally, XRD an amorphous Ea-AgNP peak maximum intensity proportion occurring 24 Theta. particle size distribution curve a 105 Furthermore, SEM/EDX revealed optical absorption characteristic 3 keV. EDX examination three signals: strong signal C atom (70.99 %), O (28.95 Ag (0.06 %). TEM imaging also characteristics Ea-AgNPs. Some phytochemicals such as flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins IC50 values 45.30 ppm.
